How to test Fillmore
Fillmore needs no account or sign-up. It is free during the beta.
- Open any Google Sheet. Put headers in row 1, such as Student Name, Course, Email.
- Add 2 or 3 rows of test data. Use your own address in the Email column.
- Make a Google Doc with tags, such as: Certificate for <<Student Name>> in <<Course>>.
- In the sheet, open Extensions > Fillmore > Open Fillmore.
- Press "Set up a job for this tab".
- Press "Choose template" and pick your Doc. A Google Slides file works too.
- Press "Choose folder" and pick an empty Drive folder.
- Check each tag matches a column. Press "Save job".
- Press "Make files". Each row gets a file in your folder. The sheet shows each row's status.
- To test email: press "Edit job". Open "More options" and turn on "Also send each file by email". Choose the "Email column" and press "Save job". Add a new row, then press "Make files" again.
- To test form merge: link a Google Form to the sheet. In the form, use Responses > Link to Sheets. Press "Edit job" and open "More options". Turn on "Make files for new form answers by itself". Press "Save job". Send the form. Fillmore makes a file for the new answer.
- To test undo: press "See results", then "Undo this run". The files move to Drive trash.
